I held off on writing this review to ensure their quality and service held up over time, and I’m happy to report my car is still running smoothly. I booked an appointment online after experiencing overheating issues, and they promptly texted to confirm the date and time. They also advised me not to drive the car until the appointment, which was helpful. When I arrived, they quickly diagnosed the problem. Although I don’t remember the receptionist’s name, she was incredibly kind and helpful. Their prices are very reasonable compared to chain mechanic shops that overcharge and often don’t fully resolve the issue. I recommended this family-owned shop to a few people since coming here.

I have a 2017 Buick Encore and I recently got my water pump replaced but that wasn’t the only issue. Fixing the water pump only was a temporary solution when I begged her to ask them to check my AC system. I’m guessing they don’t specialize in that because the lady in the front was trying to avoid that. I told her my car was over heating and we got that problem fixed but told her to check the ac system about why my car shuts off when idling when the AC is on. She stated the ac system is fine and I was like okay and the problem didn’t exist anymore up until I posted this comment. I would just like a full diagnostic and time being spent finding every problem. Other than that they are friendly and they are fast and I want them to be my go to shop. Hopefully it goes better next time when I bring my car back because the same problem is happening again.

A moderate 'Ka-Thump' heard when I shifted from park to any other position said I needed a fix in the driveline. The crew found a loose pinion gear in the rear axle. I decided to go with a remanufactured rear axle replacement and the replacement was installed within the week. A follow up test drive found a noticeable vibration, 2 trips to the driveline and driveshaft re-balancing shop found a barely out of round, axle to driveshaft flange. The re-manufacturer of the rear axle confirmed this and sent a replacement in 2 days. This cleared up the vibration and 'Ka-Thump'. Extensive experience on where to look and to check here and there is what this shop has proven in the past with this and other repairs I have done through them. Thanks to All.

They used to be my favorite shop for all my old school cars caprice, cutlass,suburban , they rebuild my whole rear end they would shoot it straight with you they will tell you the price of it no matter what the prices was i always got it done they rebuild my entire rear end about 15 years ago and he would say these big rims and speakers add alot of weight but they would fix anything, but maybe they have different mechanics now were they more knowledgeable on newer vehicles, but had to take it to a different mechanics shop to get my issues fix

Update*** 5/17 So this is my second time going to Clayton Auto. I thought it couldn't get any better than my first experience which was already amazing (as noted below). I recently brought my sons car in which was having issues staying on, I had previously brought a new battery and alternator and the car was still having issues. First I brought my car to a mechanic in austell, claimed he fixed the issue... that it was electrical... well the car died about 10 miles away from the mechanic, we called him and he said he's heading out of town and will be closed to the public for TWO WEEKS!!! (thats a whole other issue/story)! Anyhow... shortly after that after having my car towed home... and being super frustrated...fumigating actually... I remembered there was a mechanic who's service I was truly happy with... but 2 years had gone by and I couldn't remember the name or location at the time... I started digging throught receipts (because I hoard papers) and found it. I was like YES!!! Clayton Auto!!! Thank you God!!! Glad I keep papers! *Had I remebered to look at my Google reviews it would have saved time of digging through papers.* :-/ Anyways, I hobbled my pink casted ankle in the car with my cousin... we then got my sons car to Clayton auto...and they wasted no time in getting my sons car together... it is running like a charm. Brandy is a hoot. Very personable, funny and straight forward all at the same time. Brandy mentioned they had been in business 40 years. Well I see why...you can TRUST the mechanics (they will tell you exactly what the issue is, and what it will cost, how long it will take. They do what they say they're gonna do. Ain't no extra surprises when you come to pick up your car... Or extra surprises when you leave with your car. Period... and I mean that! Did I already say Brandy has a great personality?!! This will be the only mechanic I go to from now on. I’m absolutely pleased with Clayton Auto!!! My brakes went out and When I called around, Brandy was able to get me in first thing on the following day. Before any work is performed Brandy went over everything with me so that I was able to understand the issue with my vehicle and also not be surprised with any costs. One of the amazing men that worked on my vehicle even informed me and printed out a recall on my car that I wasn’t aware of. These guys are amazing! They kept me updated about issues with my vehicle so there were no financial surprises and completed the entire job in much less time than expected. When I returned to pick up my vehicle they had it ready to go and even showed me the old parts. Brandy, who works in the front office, was very knowledgeable and explained to me how they located and corrected each issue with my engine. I can rely on them to provide me upfront honest service EVERY-TIME, no matter the situation. These folks are not in it for the money because there have been times that Brandy will tell me Ms. Wimbush, don’t fix it. It’s not worth it or it’s gonna only fail due to abc. You don’t find that everyday. I tell everyone I know to go here because it’s hard to find good, reliable, and trustworthy auto repair. I’ve never had to take a vehicle back to Mr. John for faulty work in the last 7 years! NEVER. If you want great work at an affordable price - this is your place! Plus no body will provide the high level of customer service Brandy does - NO ONE! Had right front wheel bearing on my Prius making noise. They gave a reasonable estimate. This is an older NH car that had rust from salt. I wasn't surprised when they notified me I might have extra cost from rust issues. Luckily they could let it soak overnight and prevented the worst. Very pleased with their careful work.

I called like three places before Clayton auto. I have to go out of town today and I notice a coolant leak... perfect timing right? Well the other places could care less about my road trip and said sorry can’t look at it... called Clayton Auto spoke with Brandy and she said bring it to me right away and we will check it... soon as I walked though the door she ask keys please and they brought my baby right in. Called 20 mins later and told me what was wrong and they can get it fixed in a few hours.. they still have my car so I can’t comment on the quality until I get her back but so far impressed with them !!! I will check back after my car is fixed but if I don’t it was awesome service!!
